How to Build Momentum

Lets Start Getting Ahead

Hey Reader,

Before next week gets ahead of us

I want you to pause and look back at the last 7 days.

How much of that time actually felt intentional?

And I’m not talking about hustle for the sake of hustle.

I’m talking about time that moved the needle for you.

So what does that look like?

For me, it’s knowing I spent time behind the lens (not just behind a screen).

It’s showing up for the people I love, present, not just “around.”

And it’s being able to look back and say, “Yep. I actually lived with purpose this week.”

So here’s my question:

What does a successful week look like for you?

If you’re ending too many weeks thinking, “I could’ve done more. I could’ve shown up better” let’s change that.

No shame, no guilt, just realignment.

Let’s also get rid of the whole “I need to be productive from 9 to 5” mindset.

You’re not clocking in for a boss.

You’re building something you believe in.

That means you’re allowed to redefine what a productive day actually looks like.

Here’s what I’ve been leaning into:

  • Short, focused blocks of creative time, 2 to 4 hour “deep work” sprints for things that really matter (like editing, planning content, or web development).
  • Time-boxing smaller tasks so they don’ eat up your day (think: replying to DMs, emails, admin and 99% of the emails in your inbox)
  • Scheduling in things like photography walks or passion projects, not as a reward, but as a core part of your week.

Because shooting for fun? That’s fuel.

Not fluff.

I hope this helped or inspired you. Let’s keep growing and improving together 🎨

Why is photography so different? Hey Reader, It took me over 10 years to realise what truly sets photography apart from other creative mediums like painting or music. Think about how a painter works They start with a blank canvas, nothing but white space. From there, they add elements, colour, shapes, and details Until they create a finished piece. Music works in a similar way. You begin with silence and add notes, layers, and instruments to build a composition. But photography? It’s the...

Let’s cut your post production by 90% Hey Reader, When I first started taking photography seriously, I’d come home from taking photos with hundreds of photos… and no idea where to start. Importing, sorting, editing, exporting, it all took way longer than it should’ve. Eventually, I realised: the problem wasn’t my editing. It was my lack of workflow. So I built a simple 5-step system that now saves me hours every week — and actually makes the process fun again: 1. Start with a clean system...

Breaking Free from Creative Procrastination Hey Reader, If you’ve ever put off picking up your camera because you weren’t “ready” or didn’t feel inspired you’re not alone. A lot of photographers, myself included, have fallen into the trap of waiting for the perfect moment, the right gear, or a big creative breakthrough before taking action. But here’s the truth: procrastination isn’t just laziness, it’s fear in disguise. Fear of wasting time on a bad shot. Fear of not being good enough. Fear...
