Deleting photos is costing you

Never delete your photos

Hey Reader,

A few months ago, I was digging through some old hard drives when I stumbled across a folder of photos I took five years ago.

At the time, I didn’t think much of them, just another batch of images that didn’t quite hit the mark.

The exposure wasn’t perfect, there were no colours, and I moved on, forgetting they even existed.

But out of curiosity, I opened one up and started editing.

And something clicked.

With fresh eyes and years of experience under my belt, I saw those photos differently.

I adjusted the crop, played with colour grading, and brought out details I didn’t even notice back then.

And now?

Some of those forgotten shots have become my absolute favorites, photos I never would have imagined printing or sharing before.

Here’s How You Can Revive Old Photos:

Cropping – A simple crop can completely change a photo’s impact. Tighten the frame, shift the focus, and suddenly, the composition works.

White Balance – Your original edit might not have been wrong, but your style evolves. Adjusting white balance can bring a totally new mood to your image.

Presets – Sometimes, all it takes is a fresh edit. I’ve applied presets to old photos and discovered colors and tones I never noticed before. It’s like seeing your work through a whole new lens.

So before you hit delete, and try and save yourself some disk space, ask yourself

Could future you make something amazing out of this?

So grab yourself an SSD and store them safely.

And if you have photos sitting on your hard drive that you know have potential but aren’t sure where to start, let’s chat.

I’d love to help you bring them to life.

I hope this helped or inspired you. Let’s keep growing and improving together 🎨

Lets Start Getting Ahead Hey Reader, Before next week gets ahead of us I want you to pause and look back at the last 7 days. How much of that time actually felt intentional? And I’m not talking about hustle for the sake of hustle. I’m talking about time that moved the needle for you. So what does that look like? For me, it’s knowing I spent time behind the lens (not just behind a screen). It’s showing up for the people I love, present, not just “around.” And it’s being able to look back and...

Why is photography so different? Hey Reader, It took me over 10 years to realise what truly sets photography apart from other creative mediums like painting or music. Think about how a painter works They start with a blank canvas, nothing but white space. From there, they add elements, colour, shapes, and details Until they create a finished piece. Music works in a similar way. You begin with silence and add notes, layers, and instruments to build a composition. But photography? It’s the...

Let’s cut your post production by 90% Hey Reader, When I first started taking photography seriously, I’d come home from taking photos with hundreds of photos… and no idea where to start. Importing, sorting, editing, exporting, it all took way longer than it should’ve. Eventually, I realised: the problem wasn’t my editing. It was my lack of workflow. So I built a simple 5-step system that now saves me hours every week — and actually makes the process fun again: 1. Start with a clean system...
